LA County Olive View Medical Center — Restorative Care Village

Sylmar, CA

Situated at the northeastern portion of LA County’s Olive View-UCLA Medical Center campus, the new Restorative Care Village (RCV) campus features several buildings and services that provide enhanced mental health services & support. The RCV offers a safe place to stay, recuperate, and receive ongoing clinical support, with the ultimate goal of helping residents successfully reintegrate into the community.

The RCV’s 10,000 SF Mental Health Urgent Care Center (MHUCC) is designed to first receive and stabilize visitors, and then craft a custom discharge plan for each case – such as interim housing, on-going care coordination, and case management.

Immediately adjacent to the MHUCC is the RCV’s Mental Health Wellness Center (MHWC), 10,000 SF clinical building offering a variety of outpatient mental health and support services, including treatment critical follow-up services.

Across the RCV’s main thoroughfare is the Residential Treatment Program (RTP) center, a five-building dual level compound totaling nearly 47,000 SF. This 80-bed modular mini residential village provides non-acute, full-time mental health care to the RCV’s residents, helping them achieve recovery through extended stays in a neighborhood-like environment.

Lastly, adjacent to the RTP is the RCV’s Recuperative Care Center (RCC), a two-story 18,000 SF modular facility that offers 44 beds for short-term residential care. The RCC is designed to address the medical needs of those requiring time to heal from an acute illness or injury with a mental health component, and no longer need inpatient hospital care.

Additionally, the RCV campus will be developed with lush new landscaping, walkways, nature paths, horse trails, and parking. Set against the backdrop of Sylmar’s quiet foothills, this new Restorative Care Village will provide an unparalleled center for public mental health and community renewal.
